1992

Founded

Founded in 1992, Career Management Associates (CMA) initially serviced the greater Portland, ME market, primarily by providing individual career assessment and coaching services.
By the mid-1990’s, CMA was offering corporate outplacement, executive search, and executive coaching services. Professional contract employment rounded out the offerings by the late-1990’s, with expansion continuing across many industries.
2007

New Location

In 2007, the firm formally entered the New Hampshire and Vermont markets through its affiliation with Lincolnshire International and Arbora Global, together boasting more than 200 independently owned and operated outplacement/coaching firms, worldwide. This affiliation allows CMA to enjoy all the benefits of a large, multinational consulting firm, while maintaining local roots and providing personalized service to our clients.
2009/2010

HR Services Offered

In 2009, under new ownership and in response to client needs, Career Management Associates added HR Services to its growing portfolio. This service supports our clients’ existing HR departments and assists companies that do not have an HR presence, by designing and customizing HR solutions. Technology initiatives led to Career Workspace, an online career portal for job seekers as well as CMA introduced a new office in Bedford, NH.
2012

Strong Growth

CMA expands its program portfolio due to continued growth in client business relationships. CMA expanded its professional staff and moves into a larger office on Congress Street in Portland, ME. In addition, a strong social media presence was introduced to remain in constant contact with our clients and the business community.
2014

HR Power Hour Radio Show

CMA’s growth continued in 2013 and 2014 with the launch of the HR Power Hour radio show www.hrpowerhour.com. CMA’s President, David Ciullo owns and hosts this HR educational radio program that is dedicated to all things in the HR world. Regional, national, and international guests educate the audience on current and relevant HR topics as well as they provide valuable insight into HR management today.
2015/2016

Dale Carnegie Maine Acquired

An exciting acquisition and powerful global brand is added to the CMA family. The Dale Carnegie Maine franchise dramatically expanded CMA's training in corporate solutions. In addition, new digital live online solutions and public courses in sales, leadership, interpersonal, and high impact presentation skills were added to assist our clients and individuals.
2017/2018

Partnership breaks records

CMA and Dale Carnegie Maine partnership leads to a record number of clients and major growth in the Training and Search divisions which helped clients find and keep more top talent. CMA’s Search division rolled out a new proprietary model which provided clients a better and more through process for assessing talent. Dale Carnegie Maine’s own Carnegie Master Trainer was awarded the #1 Sales Trainer in the entire Global Network for both years.
2019

Changes for Dale, HR Power Hour

Exciting changes started with Dale Carnegie Maine being sold to one of its own Maine based Trainers with CMA retaining a strong alliance/partnership for continued client offerings. The HR Power Hour Radio show gains a permanent co-host as the show continued to grow. Clients wanted expanded offerings in Federal Contractor Compliance, Compensation and Executive Coaching and CMA grew in these key areas.
2020

HR Consulting and Services a Success

The unexpected global pandemic challenges clients and shows the true value of CMA’s HR Consulting and Onsite HR Services. Our combined approach to HR through consulting and education, along with amazing legal partners, provides the HR Community and CMA clients with 24/7 needed info and services through our team, HR Power Hour, and webinars. Client demand expanded Corporate Outplacement with modern high impact Career Acceleration Services that achieve a 95% job landing rate for the candidates of clients.
2021

Expanding HR Education and Giving Back

At the end of 2020, CMA makes the moves to the suburbs and opens a new headquarters in Scarborough, ME. As the demand for HR Education skyrockets, CMA responds by expanding its now trademarked, HR Power Hour media program reach through launching it on the national podcasting platforms. In addition, CMA continues its 2020 trend of giving back to its clients and the HR Community through expanded direct and no cost HR and Legal webinar offerings.
